Thing 6

Exploring Web 2.0 award winners was a lot of fun. I ended up choosing to use Pinterest. This site links you to anyone in the world whole might have something to offer on every topic imaginable. I have created a board strictly for educational ideas that I find while playing around. I can also go and search for activities and crafts for whatever topic I am covering in my class. This site has so many links to other teachers and classrooms around the world that I could find a new activity for every topic if I wanted to. Using this site in my classroom one day will help me plan everything from how to decorate my classroom to new ideas for how to present new concepts each year.

  1. I honestly believe that Pinterest is one of the most amazing websites ever known to man. By scrolling from the top of the page to the bottom, a person can find everything from an amazing soup recipe to organization tips to inspirational quotes to work out exercises. Pinterest will be an amazing asset to you in the future when you become a teacher because it will provide you with different ideas for so many different things from lesson plans to cute ideas for your classroom. I can not imagine a better website to help you when you are trying to find ideas for teaching and connecting with students!

    1. I have come to love this site. I have so many boards set up on there. Some are dedicated to education stuff and others are for other aspects of my life. This site will become a staple for my life.

  2. I am also a HUGE fan of Pinterest. I LOVE (love, love, love) crafting and Pinterest is a crafters dream come true! I never thought of it as anything other than a good place to get recipes, craft ideas and home decor suggestions. But recently a friend of mine who is a teacher was posting on Facebook about how she had an entire board just for educational ideas and somehow it got deleted and she was frantic. It got me thinking of how many of those cute crafty ideas can be translated to good lessons for young learners (and older ones too, I'm just looking to teach the youngins :)) But I really like your idea of using Pinterest to decorate your classroom. Great post!
